West Ham, Portsmouth and Arsenal are all reported to be considering a free transfer swoop for in-demand Ghanaian midfielder Stephen Appiah.
The midfielder is a free agent following his departure from Fenerbahce last month so can still sign for a club outside the transfer window.
He has had injury problems in the past but proved his fitness as he played for Ghana against Libya on Friday night.
Ghana lost the match 1-0 but Appiah produced an excellent performance to impress the onlookers.
Representatives from the Hammers, Pompey and the Gunners were all watching on, while another top European side are also thought to be interested.
Appiah, 27, who previously played for Juventus, recently admitted that it would be 'his dream' to play in the Premier League.

"i'm surprised that wenger has not yet gone for him. on a free transfer, appiah is well worth it. may be fergie should give it a thought too. he's better than o'shea and fletch..."

"would love to of signed appiah would of been a good replacement for muntari but he has signed for arsenal....another one gets away..."
arseven (Arsenal fan)
"Appiah left Fenerbahce because of long absence due mostly to injury but during the last year due to having disagreements with the club and the Brazilian manager! He has been away from "regular club footbal" for some time and deserves a chance - but on terms that is not an open cheque! He is not Flamini or Hlep in any way; he can be a utility player when necessar! Certainly better than Diaby!"
